Stories Set in Familiar Places and Science Week
This week we have been learning about stories set in familar places. We have been looking, in particular, at a story called 'One Sweet Too Far', which is set in a school.
Your task this week is to think back to a memorable day that you have experienced at school, and turn it into a story. Remember, this is NOT a diary entry so you must write in the past tense and the third person.

Science Week
During the week beginning the 21st March, we will be taking part in an exciting Science week.
On Wednesday 23rd we will hold annual Science fair. If you would like to take part, you will need to investigate a scientific problem or a science question that interests you. Ideally, you will carry out an experiment, survey or test, rather than researching the answer to a question in books or on the internet. You can present your work on up to A1 (84cm x 59cm) paper and can bring in objects or photographs to show the results of your experiments.
The work will be displayed in classrooms on Wednesday 23rd March, with classes opening at 3pm for parents and carers to come and see the children’s work. Children will leave school at the usual time of 3.30 (KS1) and 3.35 (KS2).
We look forward to seeing what experiments you will bring this year. The projects will be judged by our guest judges. Judges will be looking at:
- Presentation of work
- Knowledge and understanding
- Curiosity and scientific enquiry skills
Clem Weesly was the smallest pupil in her class. People in her class called her names like Little Tiny Mouse. Today she did not care about that because there was something that she really liked. It was a little music box in her school bag. Clem’s mum gave it to her that morning.
ReplyDeleteClem was over the moon to play with her music box. It was covered with pink glitter and on top of the pink glitter was swirls of silver glitter.
She skipped to school with a big smile on her face. Clem asked her teacher to go to the toilet but instead of going the toilet she hid in a corner a little bit near to the toilet. Clem opened the music box and it played a song, Suddenly a girl paced the corner and saw her the girls name was Jone she was the meanest pupil in the school “what were you doing” Jone asked “nothing” Clem said with a worried face. “Whatever you are doing hand it over” Jone said with a grin. Clem quickly gave it to her and ran to a teacher nearby.
THEY GOT IN BIG TROUBLE!!!

DeleteThere was a boy named Kristen.He came from Italy.He just moved to London last March 2015.At that time all he can speak is just Italian.It was last April 13,2015 that he went to Chatsworth Primary School for the first time.He doesn't speak any English,not a word that time.He just listened more to his teacher because he doesn't know how to ask or answer a question.It was very hard for him at the start.He can't understood what they are saying.There was the time when someone is talking to him,he just smiled back.It was really hard to play with his classmates.Most of the time he just followed what his classmates say.Soon days passed.Although,he can't speak English that much but he started to understand what they are saying.He was so happy.Good enough to go in school everyday.Weeks had passed and finally,he could speak English very well.He was very very happy that time.From that day he enjoyed studying in Chatsworth Primary School.He loves playing with his friends.He started talking so much and made some jokes with his classmates.He had so much fun staying and playing with his friends.He loves learning more in school.He loves his school,his friends and all his teachers.

It was 10:15 and we were in school.Our class were silent because we wanted to go to break early.A few minutes later our teacher let us go for break.While we were playing we saw a sticker.I picked it up,my friends and me were trying to return it .At lunch, we saw a girl asking if she had seen a sticker.I was just about to give it to her but another girl said it was her sticker.But then we didnt know who it belonged to.Suddenly a boy came and knocked it out of my hand,the wind blew it away and the problem was solved.
ReplyDeleteI would like to tell you about my memorable day of my old school. It was a bit far away. That is why I used to travel by bicycle to school everyday. After my school when I was coming home my cycle chain has been broken down. I got very sad, my mum tried to fix but it is no use. Then my mum called dad to help. While we were waiting one man was passing by he asked us what happened then my mum explained what is the problem and he fixed it. I was glad to see my bike been mended. I said thank for him. Me and my mum went home.

One day in year 1 there was a boy could tommy and his mum.I was really really exited about it don't know about the others. They did not know what to do when we all came in the first time we went by coach and I was at the back I was talking the hole way when we got there we had a little swim I got splated in the eye are teacher sor a jellifish so we got out
ReplyDeleteMe and my mum were bulding sandcasles next I went and started playing football with Ayman,Mal,Igor,Arnav,Bartek,Kashul and Itquan i did not win but i did not care we had are lunch and then had one more swim and had 10 minutes of swiming we went back to chatsworth primery school
I had the best time of my life at the beach thanks for the trip

Sam was the smallest boy in his class.People called him stuff like carrot and cellary, however today he did not care because he had bought a forbiden an object that was no allowed.It was a carrot!!! Sam went to the shed at school.He checked if anybody was there.Sam had a piece of carot but then suddenly he remembered that there was a boy who came there and loved eating carrots.There he was!Tommy tried to snatch it.Sam told the teacher,that Tommy was eating.Tommy got told off.Sam said to himself:"FFFiew,I'll never do that again".

DeleteOne of the most memorable moments in my life was my first day at school.Now i am a student of year3.But i can clearly remember the first day at school.On september 3rd 2012,my mother took me to Chatsworth primary school.It was the first day of my school life.I felt very nervous.I went into my class and introduced myself to everyone in the class.My classmates received me warmly.I felt very happy.In no time i made friends and enjoyed playing with them.I will never forget such event.

It was my first day back to school, after the Easter break, and I wanted to look smart. Mum had bought me a new pair of school trousers and a new tie, a grown up one, not the elastic one, which I had previously and which everyone pulled.
ReplyDelete"Arnav, hurry up! you'll be late for school!", mum yelled from the bottom of the staircase.
"I'm nearly ready mum, I'm having difficulty tying up my tie", I grumbled as I headed downstairs.
"Let me help you, we need to leave", groaned mum.
"yeah, yeah", I casually replied.
Mum and I walked speedily along the road and took a short cut through the alley. As we approached the zebra crossing I felt something snap. All of a sudden my trousers fell to my knees, exposing my luminous yellow boxers. Luckily no one saw and I managed to pull my trousers back up quickly, gripping on to them tightly. "Mum there's something wrong with my trousers, it keeps falling down", I whispered.
"You probably didn't fasten it properly, Arnav", sighed mum.
We entered the school gate, my face was glowing crimson red with embarrassment. I didn't dare look up. I ignored my friends who were inviting me to play. "Mum, stop saying hello to everyone and fix the problem", I said annoyingly.
"Oh dear, the elastic on your trousers has snapped, I can't fix this now. Maybe you can change in to your joggers", mum suggested.
We waited for the class to go in and then told the teacher what had happened. She found this amusing but for me, it was embarrassing and a memorable day.
ARNAV
It was a Thursday and Eva was at school collecting the milk as usual. The person collecting it with Eva was Igor. As they got back to class Eva opened the packet and shut the milk box. Then she went into the classroom and joined in with the others learning how to do their literacy work. She got her book and started writing the instructions of how to trap a sabre toothed tiger. Eva finished her work and it was time for playtime. After playtime Mr Goddard led the class to the ICT suite. Next Eva found her partner Arya and chose a computer. They went to movie maker and looked at the instructions, then they started to find pictures for the programme. Eva found the photos and her partner Arya typed in the words. This was such a memorable day for Eva because she loved the movie maker and she would love to be an actress when she is older.

ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time there was a goat running around on a farm. Some children from a school named Chatsworth visited the farm. They had a very busy day there. They were looking at the got until the teacher took them to do activities when they came back the goat was in its little house the kids went back in their coach. On their way back when they were getting out the coach the goat was in the back. One of the members of the farm got the goat.

At Kavins first day at school he had lots of friendly friends they all liked him. Also he was introuduced by his teacher miss Davis. when it was break time first he had a race. They were playing counting game. When they were going inside. When they were going to lunch they told him the rules what to do. The time he got home he was talking

My most memorable day in school was when I visited Buster farm when I was in year 3. Luckily, I and my best friend sat next to each on the coach trip. The bus journey was about two hours and me and him discussed a lot of interesting topics in History.
ReplyDeleteWhen we reached there, the people in the farm showed us the Stone Age houses, their old houses and the farm. Also, the people in the farm taught us how to make rings and bracelets using copper wires. Then I and my friend separated into different groups. During lunch time we met again and he explained all the exciting things that they did in their group like weaving the fence and feeding farm animals. After lunch, the people in the farm took us to a place where we did pony riding. Me and him sat together on a horse. Initially he was afraid to ride then after sometime he got adjusted. I enjoyed horse ride the most and he enjoyed feeding animals the most.
We finished our activities in the farm by 3 p.m. and on our way back to school we discussed what others friends did in the farm and it was an exciting and memorable.

Once there was a boy called Peter.Everyone in his class called him different names like carrot because he was vegetarian.One day, he didn't care because he has a forbidden object and it is a phone.He went inside the classroom without permission in lunchtime.He was excited about the games he could play.Wouldn't you be too?He started playing 1 game but forgot to mute it so Kavin heard that noise from the toilet and went inside the classroom. "Gimme that phone",he boomed over the entire classroom.But Peter just gave him the phone and went to a nearest teacher to tell him off.Kavin got told off and he went to headteacher and headteacher gave his parent a letter about the phone to their home and Peter realized his mistake and never going to do it again.By Soham
