Homework task due Friday 13th November 2015

Ancient Greek Monsters and Myths

Next week we will be learning about myths and legends. The myths and legends of Ancient Greece were dominated by tales of heroes, gods and monsters.
For this homework you will be looking at the monsters of myth and legend. I would like you to create your own monster. Draw a picture of it and label your picture to tell me what each part does. Then write a paragraph telling me about your monster. Tell me about where it lives, what it does, how it behaves and what it has done to the heroes that have come across it.

You can write your paragraph on the blog so that we can read it together in class!
If you’re having trouble creating your monster, try the old Greek myth trick… simply take the head of one animal and combine it with the body of another. You can always add wings and a tail.

  3. The flying Monster was born in a cloud so that is where it lives. But it has no family.

The flying monster behaves very bad and nobody has lived when they came across it. It might do little tricks on you so you must be careful.

The flying monster has a head of a pig because pigs are very clever, they can: smell, hear, see and taste.

The flying monster has a body of a horse because horses are strong and with that strenght they can: punch, hit and push.

It has the legs of a cheetah because they are the fastest animal in the world so it can run super fast, like Speedy Gonzalez.

It is called " The Flying Monster" because it has angel wings to fly high in the sky and could spit on another monster and the flying monster will win.

  4. My ancient Greek monster

My monster is called as Cerberus and its a wolf with three heads. It has dagger like teeth, sharp eyes, extremely long tongue, thin body, snakes on its nose, forehead and toes. His father's name is Typhon who is multi snake headed.

It lives in the underworld and guards the gates of the it and prevents the dead from leaving. Some people call him the "Hound of Hades"

The snakes on its body spit venom to scare away the heroes from rescuing the people from the underworld and some of them could wrap their body and strangle them.
The monster uses its tongue grab its prey or someone trying to escape from it. The claws are for ripping the flesh of their prey. It uses its tail to whip the heroes.
