Home task due Friday 2nd October

Poetry Week
Next week we will be celebrating Poetry Week. The theme this year is 'Light'! Therefore, we will be spending a lot of time reading lots of different poems and our Literacy will focus on innovating some poems that we are studying in class.

Your Literacy homework for this week is to find an amazing poem that you would like to share with the class. If you're struggling to find one, this website has loads of great poems;

  2. If a frog went to school,
would there class room be the pool?
    or, perhaps I`m a fool!
    To think there`s a rool,
    That makes frogs attend school.
And besides, whilst I`m at it,
    Can frogs sit on stools?

  4. It happened just by accident,
    I promise that it did.
It opened on its own as it sprung out from where it hid.

It was like that when I got here,
    That's very true you know.
And I'm sorry that it fell and landed right on your big toe. by Esra

  5. Man from the moon
There once was a man from the moon,
Who dusted the sky with a broom.
    He cleaned at night,
    To keep the lights bright,
And scooped out new stars with a spoon!

  6. About The Teeth of Shark
    By John Ciardi

The thing about a shark is-teeth
    One row above,one row beneath.

Now take a close look.Do you find
    It has another row behind?

    Still closer-here,I'll hold your hat:
Has it a third row behind that?

Now look in and .....Look out! Oh my,
I'll never know now! Well, goodbye!

  7. Oh My Sun, Oh My Sun, Where are you?
Please give us plenty of light for trees to grow and flowers to bloom.
All the children are waiting for light to come and make us smile and play.

Please don't play Hide and Seek behind the clouds.
Please cone out and give us plenty of light and make our day colourful and joyful.
All the living creatures come out when you are out.

Oh My Sun, now you know what we need to live and children to play and enjoy,
so please come out and give us plenty of light.
