Non-Chronological Reports
This week we have been writing non-chronological reports about dragons. Your homework task this week is to write a non-chronological report about an Ancient Greek mythical creature. Choose from;
  • Pegasus
  • Minotaur
  • Medusa
  • Hydra
  • Cyclops.
You must use your imagination when writing about these creatures so feel free to make up the information in your report. Remember to include information about;
  • where they lived
  • what they ate
  • their likes and dislikes.

  2. 160 million years ago there lived a young lady named Medusa. She lived in a wooden house near by the sea. Medusa was poor, (no money) she had no food and no water. She needed to eat snakes and fire from the mountains. Medusa was so ugly and hideous because she brushed her hair using a tornado of hair brushes with her own powers. One day she looked up to the beautiful, bright sun and asked nervously "Why am I so ugly and hideous?" there was no answer. Medusa liked every ones hair except from hers sometimes she felt very sad. Her dislikes were that she didn't like herself
    but she did like every thing that other people had!
    THE END!

  3. The beast that I made up is called Cyclops.
    Cyclops lives in a cave. From the outside it looks like an old cave from inside it looks like a castle. He is the same size as a person, he is as kind as a rainbow and as innocent as a lamb. He has lords of friends in the forest some are Rabbits and Squirrels.
    He likes to play Monopoly and they have been world champions because they play for an hour every day. Cyclops eats only Fruits and vegetables like carrots, broccoli and potatoes.

  9. Helen of Troy

    Helen of Troy was the most beautiful ancient Greek Goddess. Even though Athena and Aphrodite are very beautiful but Helen of Troy still beats them. Her hair is all curled and in the centre there is a little bun. On the sides there are little curls. Near the front there are lots of patterns that go across her hair into a pony. She was a Greek and her name was pronounced as: ceramonia de un’ion. She was all ways dressed in different coloured clothes which were as long as gowns. Whenever she wore ear rings she wore the ones that matched her gown. She was the world champion at being the most beautiful ancient Greek Goddess. She lived in a cave. She lived 200,000 years ago and ate meat and fish. She liked living in a cave but not near the river because it is so splashy that she can’t get to sleep!

  11. Hippocampus

    Hippocampus spring from Greek and Phoenician mythology, however, its name is purely of Greek provenance as the wprd hippo in Greek means sea monster. These mythical creatures are believe to have been created from the crest of sea waves.
    Often referred to as "sea horse".The head and forelegs from horse. Its tail and hindquarter from either serpent, fish or dragon. It has also been featured with wings of a bird, the most popular being is the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
    They lived in the sea. They were believed to be used as a means of conveyance for Nereids, the water nymphs. It was believed that the sea that formed when the waves crash was actually caused by their bounding movement beneath the sea.
    Hippocampus were known to be benevolent spiritual creatures who helped sailors from drowning, salvaged men from sea monster as well as helped people overcome problems faced in the sea.
    Hippocampus because of their mythical status are asdociated with imagination and creativity. They also used as symbol of strength and agility.Sailors through ages reckon them as good omen.

  12. Medusa

    Medusa the great snake-headed beast lived in Greece in a swamp nearly 500 years ago. You could occasionally find her in dark, gloomy and misty caves.

    What did she eat?
    She sometimes drank and ate the swamp water, rarely she would bite a chunk out of the cave. When she was feeling really angry and bad she would eat the people who dared to try and defeat her.

    What did she like?
    Surprisingly she loved to fight and eat. As her hobby she hunted down people which she called her prey.

    What did she look like?
    Medusa was a normal human but instead of normal hair her hair was snakes. Athena gave her the snake hair because when Medusa was at Athena's temple she was whispering to herself that she was prettier than Athena and what it would be like if she had a temple of her own. Her eyes were a deep red and her skin was pale white.

    What were her powers?
    Medusa the fearsome beast was rarely seen. Her powers were if anyone looked into her eye she would turn them to stone and the statues stood in vertical rows making a walkway for her to get to her swamp and caves.

  14. A monstrous giant with a single eye in the middle of its forehead.
    there were three Cyclopes: Arges, Brontes, and Steropes— sons of Heaven and Earth who made the thunderbolts of Zeus.
    Cyclopes are also credited with building ancient walled cities
    They ate humans, were thick and had given Zeus the thunder and lightning as a sign of gratitude when he released them from the underworld
    The most famous Cyclops was Polyphemus who Odysseus blinded after making him drunk.
